Paul Brahim, CFP®, AIFA®, AAMS®, AWMA®, CMFC® | Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Paul Brahim is a shareholder of BPU and the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the firm. He joined BPU in 1997 as Managing Director of Wealth Management. In that capacity, Paul led the firm’s efforts to provide comprehensive financial planning and asset management services to individual clients. He also introduced and developed BPU’s Personal Financial Education (PFE) program and was instrumental in creating the firm’s retirement plan offering. Paul was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2006, Chief Compliance Officer in 2011 and his current position in 2013. Prior to BPU, he was a Registered Representative for Allegheny Investments, Ltd. in Pittsburgh, PA and, before that, spent several years in pharmaceutical sales.
Paul often serves as an expert witness in financial services related cases, providing research and testimony for legal counsel and their clients in both FINRA arbitration and court cases. A graduate of Washington and Jefferson College in 1981, Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and English. His professional designations include: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNNING™ practitioner; Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst™; Accredited Asset Management Specialist ℠; Accredited Wealth Management Advisor℠; and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor℠.
Active in community service Paul is a Member of the Boards of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Pittsburgh and Heritage Community Initiatives. He is also an active volunteer for organizations including the Navy Seals Foundation One Team One Fight and 31 Heroes projects.
Paul is frequently interviewed by local and national media and has been named one of western Pennsylvania’s top financial advisors for several consecutive years through a survey in Pittsburgh Magazine.
